Only five refuse trucks out of a fleet of 29 are carting away rubbish in Buffalo City.

Twenty-four of the giant compactors and other waste removal trucks are sitting broken and awaiting repair somewhere in the metro, DA caucus deputy leader and constituency chair Sue Bentley said.

When these statistics were put to BCM spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya, he said the city had acquired two more trucks.
